NOTES FROM NOVEMBER 2025
The entrances have looked the same for decades and this look has lasted. However, the land has shifted, there are bare areas, and weeds can be removed. Some details are noted below about a simple clean-up and redesign.
Your comments are welcome! However, please note that the HOA is working with a tight budget and again, the goal is for a clean-up and simple rock redesign. No major updates are planned at this time. E.G., no plants will be removed. No new plants will be added. The current solar powered lights will remain. We can consider changing these aspects at a later date.
NOTE: This work does not impact HOA dues.
Process: A few HOA board members (Terry, Steve, Victoria, and Sue) have collected quotes and personally met with two landscapers to get their thoughts as well as discuss some of their own ideas. The final landscaper and project start date will be announced soon.
Clean-up and Design: The below picture is a rough hand drawing meant to give you an idea of the design and rocks to be used. All of the entrances will have the same elements but may vary slightly.
The colors and sizes of rock are noted below. We’ll announce the start date after the contract is signed.
The current rock will be moved, the area cleaned of pine needles and weeds, and a new weed mat installed. The current rock will be spread across this weed mat.
New rock will be placed over this rock to add some depth. Type of rock: Tan River Rock | Color: brownish hue; see the below picture. | Size: Around 1.5”
A rock river will begin at the side or middle of the sign and will run down to the end of the entrance and curve around on one side to create a border. Type of rock: Grand mesa stones | Color: bluish/brown hue; see the below picture. | Size: Around 1.5”
A few “rip rap” boulders will be added for dimension. Type of rock: Rip rap boulders | Color: bluish/brown hue; see the below picture. | Size: Varies
The bigger rocks that are currently there will be repurposed to create the other border on the other side.
